What happens in therapy?

You will find Therapy in Barcelona’s approach has a strong emphasis on practical problem-solving. In any one consultation, we usually start by reviewing your progress so far, we do some trouble-shooting if you need it, and then help you to go a bit further. We won’t encourage you just to sit around and talk about your problem, though talking and having an active listener who validates and offers you compassion for your emotional reality will be one aspect of your movement forward. It’s important for you to have the space to talk and feel all that you need to feel around your circumstances. We provide a safe and confidential, validating and supportive space for you to do this. However, it’s important you go away able to do something about your problems.
