My name is Daniela and I’m a psychology-trained therapist from Mexico.

Originally from México city, I  landed in Barcelona after two years in Madrid. We moved for my husband’s work.

Having experienced, and worked through, the challenges of expatriation, I now want to help people who are going through similar challenges in their journey in a foreign culture.

So, what does working with me feel like?

I will help you make friends with your feelings. 

Come as you are and together we can explore your emotions and how to manage them so you can feel more at ease. 

I will help you learn new skills.

I offer you tools I have in my professional toolbox. It is a daily job getting to know yourself better and I hope to help you harness what you believe to be ‘weaknesses’ in your favour. 

I offer a respectful, professional and warm relationship.

I have a deep respect for my clients. It is courageous, no matter how old you are, to seek support when you are having problems. I feel privileged to accompany you in this moment of your life and will offer you a safe space.

I have a practical approach.

I draw from my knowledge of CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy),  and REBT (Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy) to help you learn how to manage your mind, emotions, and situations. Yes! There will be homework (useful homework).

I have always been a people person and a helper. 

When I was a child, I struggled with my self-worth in school until I studied psychology. Finally, I was good at something because I was doing what I love. I understood it was my calling in life.

Giving people a safe space and having a skill set that can help people help themselves navigate their challenges in life is a privilege. I love my work!

Connection gives me energy.  I love to be surrounded by my friends, family and partner as much as possible.

Nature is my medicine. When I feel anxious or stressed I like meditating and being surrounded by nature.

I believe everything happens for a reason. Instead of asking “Why is this happening to me?”  I prefer to ask: “For what reason is this happening to me?”

I spent a lot of money on therapists that didn’t really acknowledge my needs. They agreed on the first session but then continued with their own plan and I quit after a couple of months. Daniela is the first therapist that actually gives me what I need which is ways to cope with my depression when it comes. We don’t waste time on irrelevant things. She also has a great way to make me notice things I haven’t before, and to make me come up with answers and solutions I didn’t know I had in me.

It felt really good to talk to Daniela, I already got some things out of just first session and felt a good connection. All was good.

I felt heard and comfortable during the session. Daniela's positive energy also helped me feel more at ease during the session. She noticed all the smaller details I said.
