My name is Marina. I’m a Therapist for Children, Adolescents, Adult Women (18-35), Families and Parents

I am a fully qualified Psychologist in Brazil, with a specialisation in Family Intervention and Mediation.

I have experience working in public and private sectors in different parts of the world: including Brazil, Spain, Perú, and England. 

I work with individuals and families from different cultures, speaking with them in their mother tongue, supporting them to express their inner feelings, creating an emotional connection, and helping with integration and adjustment in a new country and life.

My main areas of work are: Life/career transitions, work life balance, cultural
adaptation, becoming a woman process, sexuality, identity, menstruation cycle, family
conflicts, trauma, violence, abuse or toxic relationships, childhood (Inner Child), self-
esteem & body Image, stress, depression, anxiety, anger, fear or sadness, struggling
with relationships and friendships, becoming a parent, adoption, divorce, new siblings,
attachment, challenging behaviour at home or school, screen time, ADHD, learning
difficulties, grief and loss, autism and special education needs.

I use an approach called Systemic and Integrative Therapy, as well as other techniques that can help you and your family realise the changes you want to achieve. My approach is always tailored to the needs of the adults, children, adolescents and families and can include: Play, Art Therapy, Creativity, Mindfulness, Body and Emotions, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) techniques.

Therapy is based on communication, both verbal and nonverbal. Talking is a part of therapy however, sometimes it can be hard to express what we are feeling using only words. In those moments, we will employ creative techniques such as conscious parenting, playing, drawing, writing, painting, mindfulness, or using photos, books, cards, games, role-play and other approaches that encourage different ways to express feelings.

Sessions can be in English, Spanish or Portuguese.

Therapy with Marina provided me with a supportive, understanding, and entirely judgment free space where I knew I was always safe to express myself.

I began therapy with a clear idea of what I wanted to address, and Marina helped me through each step. Not only did I address everything that I initially wanted to, but the sessions provided me with a great outlet for negative emotions.

I observed clear positive changes in myself, not only in my mental health, but also in my behaviour.
