I’m Alicja, a Polish-Irish therapist.

I moved to Barcelona because I had always wanted to live in Spain.

I’m originally from Poland but my family moved to Ireland when I was 13. These countries are culturally different and we speak completely different languages so the adjustment wasn’t easy. 

That’s why I am excited and equipped to accompany you in your journey in a foreign culture.

Actually, my passion began with wanting to understand international politics – why do countries behave the way they do?

I thought psychology held the answer to the question of how the world works and I still believe it holds some of the key clues!

Ultimately, I would like to live in a world where people take more time to be mindful and tune into themselves.

Therapy helps to set us up to have healthier communication and fewer conflicts which may be the key to a better world.

I am multipassionate. I like yoga and meditate often but I also love martial arts! I am crazy about music and I play guitar and sing.

I overcame social anxiety.  These two truths worked very well for me: 1) what other people think of you is none of your business 2) you’re perfect as you are, all vulnerabilities included. 

My Polish and Irish bicultural identity. In place of a single geographical space for me to grow deep roots in, I’ve had to learn to form grounding connections with the people in my life instead.

I really liked the first session because I felt comfortable in sharing the start of my story and I could see Alicja was paying attention to the details. I also liked the examples she provide when explaining certain patterns and why I feel certain emotions. I am pleased with the match and I look forward to my next session.

I really like my sessions with Alicja. Sessions feel a little more personal and friendly than ones I've had with other therapists in the past, which works for me, and I'm never hesitant to open up and share. I like that in some sessions have begun to work with exercises and specific theories, and at other times it's more open talk.

Yes! I like how Alicja understood and heard me the first time she met me. I've said a lot in my introduction but she picked up all the points and I'm happy about that. I look forward to my sessions with her.

I'm quite sensitive and therefore it's trial and error in finding methods to help me cope. I find my therapist listens to what I have to say and is wiling to adjust based on my feedback. We have a very open feedback loop so I don't feel awkward sharing feedback with her directly.

I dont have experience with this, nor do I have expectations, as for talking about my situation, it provided a safe space which I feel will help to get through this.
