I invite you into a grounded and warm space where you can understand your patterns and translate that understanding into real change.

To begin working with an expat therapist in Barcelona, fill in the intake form.

Hi there

I'm Carolina, a Romanian-born Integrative Therapist.

Before I trained as a therapist, I spent 20 years in the corporate world. These days I’m a Spanish national, finishing a Masters in Contemporary Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and Mentalization-Based Treatment.

I bring a mix of depth and practicality into the room, combining tools like psychoanalysis,  mentalization and ACT to work with attachment patterns and early relational trauma, low self-esteem and anxiety, and challenges like burnout and impostor syndrome.

I’ve been an international myself for 15 years, so the anxiety, loneliness and disorientation that living abroad can bring aren’t theory to me. They’re something I’ve lived, and something I understand sitting across from you.

English, Spanish, Romanian, Catalan

Adults, Adolescents 16+

BA Psychology; MA Contemporary Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy and Mentalization-Based Treatment (in progress); Attachment Theory; ACT; Systemic Emotional Psychotherapy

Stuck doing the same thing?
Let me share an ACT tool that tells you why and what to try instead.

What does working with me feel like?

I provide a space that is:

Warm. I bring warmth to every session, and I don’t shy away from the hard conversations either.

Collaborative. I’m not a passive listener. I invest in the work with you and bring something to the table each session.

Curious, not directive. I don’t jump to conclusions or tell you what I think you should do. I guide you towards your own answers.

Change grounded in understanding and action. I combine psychodynamic depth (understanding the origin of patterns) with the behavioural component of change (ACT, mentalization).

Private. Confidentiality is the foundation of the space we build together.

Tailored to your needs. Combining Contemporary Psychoanalysis, Attachment Theory, Mentalization-based Treatment, Emotional Systemic Psychotherapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

I work integratively, combining Contemporary Psychoanalysis and Mentalization-Based Treatment with Attachment Theory, Systemic Emotional Psychotherapy and ACT, adapted to each person I work with.

The origin of a pattern matters to me, and so does what you do with it once you see it. I spend early sessions understanding the relationships and experiences that shaped how you react, relate and cope now. From there we work on naming the pattern as it shows up, in the room and in your life outside it, and on building the concrete skills and small weekly actions that turn insight into lasting change.

I recommend weekly sessions, or at the very least once every two weeks, so the work has continuity rather than becoming a series of disconnected conversations.

If you’re looking for something shorter term, I also offer practical, tactical tools to help you break a specific habit or work through a concern that’s bothering you right now.

My Approach

details about me

Life in the Catalan countryside. I spent years enjoying the rhythm of the city, but now I live in the hills, with fresh air and long walks with my dog. It’s where I’ve learned to enjoy quiet.

A believer in words. I love writing, and I love a good discussion, whether that’s facilitating a workshop, giving a lecture or simply talking something through properly with a client.

A second career. I spent many years in the corporate world before training as a therapist. Burnout, impostor syndrome and career roadblocks are territory I know well, both professionally and personally.

Ready to explore your inner world and discover the best way for you to thrive?

Our Intake Coordinator will contact you within 24-48 hours.

I love helping people grasp how early trauma and attachment gaps shape emotions, thoughts and relationships today, and helping them find a different, healthier way to respond.
