Hello! I’m Valeria

I help clients with self-esteem, perfectionism, transitions, worry, work related stress, life direction and sleep issues. I also help clients struggling with feelings of depression, generalised anxiety, mild personality disorders, eating disorders, emotional regulation, PTSD, psychotic symptoms, hallucinations, and adaptation issues.

I am a very empathic, warm, and respectful person and I pay attention to create a positive working relationship with clients characterised by warmth, respect, acceptance, empathy and trust.

I aim to create a setting where clients feel contained and safe and can discuss their deepest concerns and express their feelings. I help clients to address their problems using their own resources.

I have an integrative approach to therapy. I utilise humanistic frameworks, life coaching skills, art therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy and tools from psychoanalytic psychotherapy
Valeria is a very good listener and asks good questions for self-reflection. Her practical “homework” (like drawing, writing letters, grounding, breathing and other exercises) are a good way to work one oneself outside of the therapy session.
[Adult Client]

During the past years I worked as consultant psychologist for the Associació de Bipolars de Catalunya. There, I facilitated groups for patients affected by bipolar disorder type I and II, psycho-educational groups for family members, groups focused on hallucinatory symptoms, and mixed groups. I also facilitated individual and family art therapy and cognitive behavioural therapy sessions. During my internships as art therapist I planned and facilitated sessions for migrant women suffering from social
exclusion, for Barcelona Actua and Femme du Monde. There I carried on a project with ITA Salud Mental: “Un Puente al Dialogo” facilitating mixed art therapy groups for families and patients affected by eating disorders. I am also training in Open Dialogue, which enriches my training for group therapy with new skills that can be applied to conflict resolution, corporate coaching sessions, and family therapy.

Sessions can be in English, Spanish, or Italian.

I can also speak German and Portuguese.
